Bury Yourself In a Good Mystery.

I write across multiple genres, from young adult mysteries to quacky science fiction/fantasy crossovers. At the heart of each of my books, regardless of genre, is a compelling mystery.  My books are character driven and often include complicated interpersonal relationships. My goal is to always write books that I want to read. I hope that you will get lost in the stories and find characters that you love and characters that you love to hate.

Happy reading!

Author Interviews

Interviews are conducted over email. If you want the post to go up on a specific date, I will do my best to accommodate you.

I never charge for interviews, book reviews, or book features. But if you want to support my blog, feel free to donate to my tip jar!

Book Reviews

I regularly review books on my blog. My reviews are mostly for book discussions and I don’t include a star rating. Generally, I don’t post book reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, or other retailers, but I will give star ratings when I finish the book.

If you would like me to review your book, please reach out! I can’t guarantee that I can complete the book by a certain deadline (I’m scheduled years in advance) but I will do my best. Children’s books that can be read aloud, audiobooks, picture books, and chapter books will be reviewed quickly (because they are shorter and I read a lot of books with my children.)

The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell [Book Review]

I'm finally returning with another book review! And honestly, I have quite a few reviews that are waiting for me to write them. And it isn't that I'm not writing -- I am -- but I've been busy writing books and I've been reading lots of books but I haven't been writing...

Words With My Father by Lowell Klessing and Lukas Klessing [Book Review]

Hey friends! I'm back with another book review. This time, I'm reviewing a non-fiction book named Words With My Father. The author reached out to me a few years ago and asked if I would read it and I've had it on my list for quite some time. Recently, I had the...

Where the Watermelons Grow by Cindy Baldwin [Book Review]

I don't typically review many middle-grade books, but I recently read this one with my third-grader and I wanted to share my thoughts after reading it. This is a heavier book for young readers because the plot follows a family struggling to cope with a severe mental...

Facing Fear, Finding Hope by Candice McCain [Book Review]

First, I would like to say a huge thank you to Candice for sending me a signed paperback of her debut memoir: FACING FEAR FINDING HOPE: Inspirational Vignettes of Courage and Resilience. This is a short memoir of about 80 pages and deals with some important lessons...

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart [Book Review]

I just finished the very popular young adult thriller We Were Liars. It was named a best book of the year by all those important publications (NPR etc) and I honestly did not know what to expect when I picked it up. I grabbed a bunch of YA paperbacks a few months back...

Before He Kills by Blake Pierce [Book Review]

This book was a pretty frustrating read. This is not going to be a positive review because while there are good parts to the book, it was either poorly written or co-authored by ChatGPT. I just wanted to give you a fair warning before you begin that I'm not going to...

Tears of the Silenced by Misty Griffin [Book Review]

Tears of the Silenced is one of the most remarkable memoirs I've ever read. It is extremely well written and I found myself reading it at every opportunity. This is definitely one you don't want to miss. I have actually been putting off writing a review because I was...

Third Eye by Felicia Day [Book Review]

Today, I'm sharing a review of Third Eye by Felicia Day. This is an audio drama, not technically an audiobook and it has a full cast of voice actors. It took me a few days to get through this story, listening as I did menial chores like the dishes, and I loved it....

Scarlet Carnation by Laila Ibrahim [Book Review]

Full disclaimer, I was sent this novel back in February of 2022 by a PR company on behalf of Laila Ibrahim and they asked if I would be willing to review it. if you can believe it, and while I sat down and devoured half of the book, life got in the way and I forgot...

The Guest List by Lucy Foley [Book Review]

The Guest List is yet another book on Reese's Book Club list and I have to say that the marketing for this book is amazing. On the cover it reads, "You'd Kill to Be on It" which is just a great slogan. Of course, getting an endorsement from Reese is great, the reviews...
