5 Science Fiction/Mystery Stories on Wattpad

If you follow me on Twitter, you probably know that I am posting a chapter of my Science Fiction/Mystery serial every Sunday on Wattpad. I have only had a few readers, so I have been looking into other stories on Wattpad that are Science Fiction/Mystery.
I decided to write this post to share some of the stories that I really enjoyed. It can be difficult to find this specific crossover, but I’m always down to read any combo of aliens and murder. Some are like crime stories in a SciFi world and others are like SciFi stories with a mysterious twist.
I’m not going to comment on any grammar or spelling errors that may or may not be there in any of the stories. I don’t expect them to be edited and it doesn’t bother me if I find one or two. My plan is to focus on the stories that really pull me in and make me want to read more!

1.  West End  by WilliamHMitchell

I feel like this story has a great opening paragraph. It’s interesting, it brings itself back around to the beginning and it convinced me to keep reading. It feels like it has a really well built world, with it’s own currency and species and the narrative is easy to follow. I was a little thrown by the Video thing and then the switching between the robot and the Detective at random intervals. I’m willing to forgive it though, since it works well enough that I was able to follow through the story. A nice twist ending.

2.  Reflection by Alone_In_The_Rain

I really like the premise for this story. It feels genuine and it has an interesting concept. I love stories about going between worlds or realities and this one was a nice read. I might say this a lot, but I would love this to be a novel. There’s some aspects of the story (how does it work, magic or science?) that I would like to explore more. I want to see where the characters go from there.

3.  One Last Day by Kathleen Russell

This story reads like poetry. It is really layered in lots of description and lyrical prose. I enjoyed reading it. It has a cool ending and I kinda wish it was a novel so that I had a deep emotional attachment to the character. I love short stories but in this case, I’d like to explore the world a little more.

4.  After Hundred Years by Sanchari_writer

I love the idea of a female astronaut as the main character. I love the concept. It does feel almost like a narrative story. Like the beginning of Princess Bride, when the Grandpa is telling the story? It sort of feels like someone is telling a story about Lisa instead of experiencing it with Lisa and I’m not sure if that was intentional. Either way, still a good read and I’m glad I found it.

5.  Anathema by TechieInAK

This one is a little different from those above. It is more about a choice that someone has to make. We aren’t sure what led to this choice, but we know that it will be important. I think I read in the description that it was later turned into a novel, so that would be interesting to read.
