If you have been around the blog for any amount of time then you likely know I am good friends with Pamela from The Picky Bookworm. Pamela regularly creates candles inspired by books, so when we decided to review Moonshadow’s Guardian by Dianna Gunn together (book club style!) and I saw that she had created a candle for it, I was all in. I zipped over to her shop to order one for myself (Pamela did not send me this – well, she did send it but I paid for it.) All opinions are my own.
The Packaging
The candle arrived quickly in a standard shipping box after just a few days of shipping. Inside that box was the candle, wrapped like so, with bits of green paper confetti. When I opened it up, I was greeted by Pamela’s signature little “Bookworm” on the top of the tin.
The Candle
The candle itself has a super cute label with the name of the book on the front. The description of the candle from Pamela’s shop is:
- 6 ounces in a black tin
- Wax is Soy and Beeswax
- Single Wick
- Useful for Entryway, Bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen, or Living Room
- Scent is called Nordic Night, which creates the perfect fantastical element to add to your reading experience.
- Fragrance Notes:
Top: Lavender & Eucalyptus
Middle: Pine, Cypress & Bayberry
Base: Peppercorn, Oakmoss, Cedar & Rosemary
Let me be clear, this candle smells amazing. I could actually smell it the moment that I tore through that beautiful pink ribbon (I didn’t actually tear it… I very carefully peeled the sticker open, but I digress.) I am currently using it in my bedroom and I absolutely love it.
I don’t like to use candles that smell too overwhelming. I don’t want my bedroom to smell like I just walked into a Hollister (I have no idea if those stores even exist anymore) so I appreciate that this candle smells great but it’s also not an instant headache.
I also love the black tin that the candle comes in, which feels very sleek.
The Book
I think this candle is a fantastic companion to the book, Moonshadow’s Guardian and the Nordic Night smell sets the right mood for diving into the complex fantasy world within the book.
If you would like to check out my full review of the Moonshadow’s Guardian then you can find that here.
Pamela also reviewed the book, which you can find here.
