Best Kids Books for Ages 0-2

These books are for babies, but for the sake of search terms, we are calling them kids. Littles at this stage are probably not reading to themselves. I think the key with this age group is to find books that are engaging for young readers but also funny (or at least tolerable) for the grownups! If you are looking for a gift for your own kid or as a gift, I hope this list is helpful.

Book cover for Little Blue Truck

Little Blue Truck

The Little Blue Truck series is well known as one of the hottest children’s books right now. It’s funny, unexpected, and lends itself to using creative voices. Kids love the characters (especially the frog!) and it’s sure to be a hit for years to come. This book has thousands of positive reviews for a few reasons; the art is playful and well designed and the story is unique and funny.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

This is a classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar has been eating his way through our lives for years. But sometimes it is easy to forget the books that made such an impact on us as kids! If you’re a millennial, you probably read this book at home and at school.

Let’s Find Momo!

I don’t even remember how I first came across this book series, but I absolutely fell in love with this idea. In Let’s Find Momo!, the author takes pictures of his lovely border collie as she hides in interesting landscapes. For babies that enjoy looking at real photos and love puppies, they will enjoy this creative photography board book.

The Poky Little Puppy

This book was my favorite growing up. I think The Poky Little Puppy was my most well-read book before Kindergarten. There is not a very clear moral in this story, but I think kids are drawn to the mischievous little puppy that continues to do what he isn’t supposed to… Naughty! But adorable. While this book may not be perfectly relevant for teaching a child right from wrong, it might help kids be okay with making mistakes sometimes!

Book cover for intro to physics for babies

Intro to Physics for Babies

This colorful and fun book gives a brief introduction to the laws of physics. Get your kiddo learning about the physical world early and have fun doing it! I like this book because it’s quirky and a great gift for new parents that are looking to give their baby a good head start. Check out Intro to Physics for Babies!

If you are interested in a book subscription box for your child, you might be interested in Little Fun Club. This subscription service is for kids up to 12 years old and contains three age-appropriate books per month. It's a great gift for the little readers in your life.
