Paige Parker Mysteries: This young adult mystery series takes place in the fictional town of Ecola Bay, Oregon. Paige Parker’s story begins with the sudden disappearance of her best friend since elementary school, Susannah Dane. The local Sheriff’s Department initially assumes that Susannah has run away, but Paige knows better. Follow along as she tracks down the truth behind what happened to her best friend.

Trigger Warnings: This book is intended for an older teen/young adult audience. There are references to crimes such as murder, rape, kidnapping, sex trafficking, and drug use. These scenes are not graphic but do contain mild descriptions of violence. There are non-explicit sex scenes between consensual characters. Mentions of abortions, adoption, and complicated family dynamics.

Science Fiction

The Leslie Kim Serials follows Leslie Kim, a murky protagonist navigating a post-apocalyptic world. Earth has been overtaken by Scavengers, thoughtless killing machines, and Leslie’s job is to hunt them. His story starts out as a bounty hunter, but Leslie is sick of spending all his days hunting Scavengers and is desperate to start over fresh. When he gets the opportunity to move to the distant planet of Kapaton, things become a little more complicated.

In this series, anything goes. Each novella features a new mysterious case that Leslie must solve and strange, new creatures to learn about. While this series features plenty of serious moments, it doesn’t take itself too seriously (and you shouldn’t either.)

Comps: This story is very “monster of the week,” like you might see in early seasons of Supernatural. But there are also space/science fiction elements that fans of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Firefly will enjoy. 

Trigger Warnings: This series is intended for an adult audience. Smoking, drinking, off-page sex (sometimes with Vampires), mild violence (non-explicit), stressful scenarios about what would happen if the entire Earth was overrun by horrifying zombie/vampire crossovers (Scavengers), death, experimenting on alien species, animal death.

Middle Grade

The Adventures of Barnaby & Clovis is a fun middle grade fantasy short story that I wrote for Calliope’s Collection of Mystical Mayhem, published by Wild Ink Publishing in 2022. This anthology features fantasy short stories and poetry works from multiple writers with adorable illustrations from Emily St. Marie.
