I have decided, in spite of my crazy schedule, to participate in Camp NanoWrimo 2017. I am going to make it a little easy on myself by setting a writing goal of 35,000 words instead of a full 50,000. This is mostly because I really want to finish the third book in my science fiction serial and if I slack off for a few days then it wonβt mean I will fail. I might not be able to participate in NanoWrimo 2017, because I have a lot of editing to be doing during that time with my current WIP schedule.
I finished the second book in the serial on June 7th and I am so excited about completing this project.

There are going to be four books all told and I am trying to finish all of them before I decide what exactly to do with them. My goal is to finish this serial by the end of summer, which should be possible if I finish the third in July and the fourth in August.
And I absolutely should be able to finish the third in July. 35,000 words and 31 days in July? That is a mere 1,129 and some change words a day. My average is 2,000 words on days that Iβm writing, and not editing or chaining episodes of The Bletchley Circle, so I should be fine. The trouble I had with the second book in the series was that I only hit about 27k words, even though I hit all the plot points I had meticulously planned. I am going to try a less regimented plan for book three and hope that allows me some more freedom to expand on the ideas and hit 35k. Book two will get fixed up in the editing stages but I need to move on to a new project or else my brain will explode from rewriting too many pages just weeks after finishing the story.
Iβm off to go plot the third book in my Science Fiction serial. Are you participating in Camp NanoWrimo this year?
