The Gnome Situation (Leslie Kim Serials Book 2)

This book has been a long time coming. I’ve talked about my editing journey with this book quite a few times. When I first wrote the rough draft a few years ago (NaNo 2018), it was approx. 36k words. I edited that draft a few times, I even sent it to beta readers and got fairly positive feedback. No one was overly excited about it and nobody hated it either. But I knew it could be better. It just wasn’t quite there. In 2018, I edited the draft again.  I still wasn’t in love with it. So I decided to walk away from it until recently, when I decided to do almost a full rewrite, cutting over 10k words out. And I was happy with it! I sent it over to my editor and got her feedback within just a few days.

Then it was time to work on the new covers. I reached out to the artist that did the original work for Leslie Kim #101: Mythical Investigations. She couldn’t do it. I was so bummed because I had a lot of ideas for more original artwork. And I wasn’t sure I could be satisfied with a cover made from photoshop and stock images. But I came up with new covers for #101 and #102 AND #103 (which will be working on next). I also wrote, edited, and designed the cover for a prequel to #101 that I’m calling #001: The Departure.

So, now I have a lead in with my newsletter signup incentive, I’ve got a first book in the series offered at a steep discount ($.99) and I’m working on going wide with both books. I am so excited to finish the third serial because at that point, I will have finished the first “season” and I am going to make either paperback books or a paperback collection with all 3 & the prequel.

Phew! So those are all the changes and updates to the serials! I am so excited.
