Nanowrimo Week 3:
11/16/16: 2251 words
11/17/16: 1510 words
11/18/16: 1622 words
11/19/16: 1003 words
11/20/16: 1466 words
11/21/16: 0 words
Total word count (2nd Novella): 11005 words
Total word count (Nanowrimo): 37715 words

If you’re following me on my Nanowrimo account (ejstopps) then you might notice some inconsistency with my word counts. The word count there will be my total word count over the course of Nanowrimo (including the novella I have already finished) and not just the word count for my new novella. To make this a little less confusing, I will specify my total word count for this project and my total word count overall. Hopefully that is helpful.
I have been really looking forward to writing this novella. It’s for a much younger audience than my previous projects have been. I have never tried writing a children’s book or a middle grade before so it’s fun to try out a new genre. The main character is a 10 year old boy who is bribed by his babysitter to eat his lunch. She tells him that he can obtain special powers if he will just eat his grilled cheese sandwich. So, what happens when he actually does?
I’m really excited to complete this project. On the second day of this week, I took the time out to write out the outline for the story. The rest of the week I was able to just fill in the blanks. Today, I got caught up playing Banished for 4 hours and it kept me from my duty. Thankfully I am a little ahead so it won’t mess me up too much.

Good luck writing through the holidays! 🙂
