Nanowrimo Week 2:
11/08/16: 815 words
11/09/16: 2553 words
11/10/16: 2021 words
11/11/16: 2189 words
11/12/16: 2006 words
11/13/16: 2412 words
11/14/16: 3474 words
Total word count: 26707 words

This week of Nanowrimo has gone well. I’m really proud of pushing through my slump and writing more than my original goal almost every day this week. I found my motivation for the story in the middle and it really helped me finish it up.
The first novella is complete. Beginning, middle, end. It needs a second draft and I’ll probably add a few extra scenes for clarification, but the bones of it are down. My original goal was 25k words by today, 11/14/16. I’m over 26k into it and really pleased with how it turned out. I wrote my last scene today and it pushed my daily word count over 3k words. Mind you, this was done in 2 hours. I don’t usually write this fast. I think it is partly due to the momentum of writing daily.
I’m so relieved that I actually finished the novella. There is enough plot in the story to expand it to a full length novel if I want to. I’ll see how I feel about that when I revisit it for my second draft. My brain is a little mushy, so I apologize if this blog post is a bit jumbled. I am starting to slow down after writing so much today.
Looking to Week 3, I am going to switch gears completely from my novella that is Science Fiction/Romance crossover to a Middle Grade Fantasy story. Hopefully I will be able to achieve the same level of success with my next novella as I have with this one. I will post here updating my progress at the end of next week. If you follow me on twitter @ElizaStopps you might catch some daily word counts here and there.
We are halfway through Nanowrimo 2016! Good luck and finish strong!
