I am a regular reader of Kristen Brand’s blog and lately, she did the “I Should Have Read That Book” tag and I wanted to participate! Especially in the month of February, where I’ve been focusing a lot of book reviews, I haven’t been working on my “just for fun” book list.

A Book That a Certain Friend is Always Telling You to Read

I’ve had this book recommended to me more than once. I’d love to give it a try. It has a super interesting premise, even though I’m not an avid YA reader. This year, I seem to have more and more YA books on my list though!

A Book That’s Been on Your TBR Forever and Yet You Still Haven’t Read It

Arriving Through Time is a book that my friend and colleague, Heather L. Barksdale, wrote. It’s been next on my TBR for over a month. I’m really excited to read it. I did an author interview with Heather last year. You can read that here!

A Book in a Series You’ve Started, But Haven’t
Gotten Around to Finishing

I started The Dresden Files but I haven’t had time to read the entire series. I mean, to be fair, there are like twelve books. So, it might take me a little while. I am going to try and pepper them in between other reads this year!

A Classic You’ve Always Liked the Sound of, But Have Never Actually Read

I haven’t read many classics, to be honest. I read a ton of the assigned reading during my Honor’s English classes throughout high school and college, but there a lot of the much older works that we didn’t even get to. I suppose if things in the early 2000s are vintage now, then maybe Lord of the Flies is a classic too!

I have always wanted to see what the draw is with Wuthering Heights, but for now it’ll stay firmly in my TBR. Maybe when I have free time in the future.

A Popular Book That it Seems Everyone But You Has Read

I seriously heard about this book when it was published back in 2015. I always think back to it like man, I should read it! It seems like I still hear about it on blogs and podcasts as a must read. And hopefully I will!

A Book That Inspired a Film/TV Adaptation That You Really Love, But Just Haven’t Picked Up Yet

The Netflix series of this really dropped off in the second season, but I loved the first season. I think I’d like to try the book series to see if it holds up better, since I love the concept. But I haven’t read them yet!

A Book You See All Over Instagram But Haven’t Picked Up Yet

I’m not on Instagram, but I’m constantly seeing A Drowned Kingdom on Twitter! I follow P.L. Stuart and he always seems to have something positive to say. This one’s on my TBR this year!

Good picks, and glad you like the tag! I haven’t finished reading the Dresden Files either.

And dittoing everybody that you should read Binti! I didn’t realize until I saw it on a library shelf that it’s a novella. It’s a really quick, engrossing read.

Oooh, I will have to grab it then. I might not have time for another full book right now, but I can always squeeze in another novella 😉
