NaNoWriMo Week One Update

by | Nov 6, 2020 | Nanowrimo, Writing | 0 comments

This update is a little nuts because it’s way more than just one week. I started my NaNo project a little bit early, on October 18th (okay, a lot-a-bit early.) I haven’t written every single day since then, as you’ll see in the graphs below, but I’ve tried to write at least something every day. I am not consistent at all with word counts. Some days I have written just under 200 and other days I write over 2,000. It just depends on what I’ve got going on in my life, basically.

What I’m Working On: Leslie Kim #103: Dragon Bounty

What’s My Word Goal: 25,000 words

Projected Date of Completion: November 18, 2020

My Daily Word Count

My graph starts a little early because I actually made the project before I was ready to write in it. I didn’t realize it started tracking before you updated the word count for the first time. Anyway, you can see that I’m not super consistent. NaNo says I am averaging about 622 words a day. That is way lower than it has been for me, historically, but I’m okay with it. I mostly just don’t want to totally fall behind. I’m not going to try for the full 40k because I really want to finish up my series of novellas before I try something else.

My Overall Progress

The graph isn’t perfect, but it shows forward momentum, which is what is most important. And I’m already 17,434 words in! I’m excited to see how far I can get this year!
